APEKS TPN | Software Activation Rules for CS3i CS5i After Reset
Resetting Your CS3i or CS5i Controller? Read This First.
Resetting a CS3i data controller or a CS5i data controller to factory settings will invalidate your current software activation. This happens because the reset process generates a new Software ID, which no longer matches the original activation code.
🔍 What Happens After a Reset:
-
The controller is recognized as a new device.
-
A new Software ID is created.
-
The original software code will not work with the new ID.
✅ What You Can Do:
-
If you still have the original software code, send it to us — we can generate a new code for the updated Software ID free of charge.

-
If the original code is lost or unavailable, a new license must be purchased.
💡 Pro Tip:
Keep a backup of your original software code in a secure location. It can save time, money, and unnecessary frustration if a reset ever becomes necessary.
